Hallmark, please stop!

What is the big hoo-ha about Valentine’s Day anyway? Ok, so there are always those arguments that you don’t need just that “one” day in the year to profess your love to the person of your dreams etc. etc. For me, it’s just another “pressure” day. One week before 14th Feb, the questions start coming: “So what are you doing for V-day?”, “what are your plans”, “where are you going for V-day?” AAAHHHGG! – I want to say “NOTHING”! “I am doing nothing. Is that a problem now?” I want to walk into my office the next day and say “I did nothing!”

Hallmark, please stop! I can’t keep up with the: “Valentine’s Day”, “Mother’s Day”, “Father’s Day”, “Friendship Day”, “Rose Day” , “PMS day”, “Who Farted Day” and what not. There are ONLY so many days in a year! Please, let me be…

I dunno what you're complaining about. All it means is more presents for you.

Finally, someone speaks the truth. What will happen after Hallmark uses up all 365 days, I wonder.

Me - I think I know those reasons :-)

Jay - If they were gifts such as your beautiful creation (the lovely painting) - I would gladly celebrate V-day :-)

Mahout - It is just a matter of days. It is going to happen soon!

Sangita - I would love to get gifts through out the year!

Couple of "days" u listed---lolz!

I was expecting to bump into red heart shaped balloons, flowers and stuffed toys at the university...but surprisingly it was pretty low key.I think everybody is just bored with the whole idea..or maybe becos its mid semester and everybody is too tired to bother. Not sure..

e2d - I guess people are just too busy with their lives to remember another day on the calendar.

Jolene - Thanks for dropping by! Well, I don't really hate V-day, but I feel it's way over rated :-) I already have to remember our "proposal day", our "b'days", our "first kiss", our "unofficial engagement day", our "official engagement day", "our anniversary" - and the list can go on!

Mahout - Forgot to mention! Thanks for dropping by! Hope to see more of you at the "Elephant Droppings" :-)
